Edmund Edvard Intarörobby (born 10 March 1996), better known by his stage name Peridot, is a Lashardian singer, songwriter, record producer, and DJ.
Peridot first entered the music industry in 2014 after being signed to Dragonborne Records. He later released his debut single "Hyde", featuring Wiggy Amour. The song went on to reach the Top 20 singles chart in Lashardia. He released his debut album, Minefield, later in the year. The album reached number-three on the Lashardian albums chart.
Life and career[]
Early life[]
Peridot was born on 10 March 1996 as Edmund Intarörobby in Klicki, Skaarsland. His father Intar was a software developer while his mother Terese was a police officer. He has two older brothers and a younger sister. The family was middle class.
Peridot attended primary school in Klicki, where he described himself as "an outsider". He excelled in art and music, and had a strong interest in computers and technology. He graduated from primary school in 2011. Peridot later went on to attend a performing arts high school in his hometown, where he managed to combine his passions of music and technology, and discovered music production. He graduated from high school in 2014 and moved to Ubenmoor to pursue a music career.
2014–present: Breakthrough and Minefield[]
After moving to Ubenmoor, Peridot began performing underground gigs at electronic venues where he played his own compositions. Eventually, he was signed to Dragonborne Records and began work on his debut studio album. The following year, his debut single "Hyde" was released, which had its lead vocals performed by trip hop musician Wiggy Amour. The song peaked within the Top 20 of the Lashardian singles chart.
Peridot's debut studio album, titled Minefield, was released later in the year. The album combined the genres of trip hop, dream pop, and neo-psychedelia, and was heavily lauded by music critics. The album reached number-three on the Lashardian albums chart. It produced the singles "Only Dreamers Say No" and "Crane". Peridot and his music are immensely popular on social media sites such as Tumblr.
Personal life[]
Peridot is openly gay, and resides in the Breż district of Ubenmoor. He has stated that he came up with his stage name shortly before his first ever gig, describing it as "the first thing that came to mind".
