Katrina Esmeralda Filöfled (born 16 February 1985) is a Lashardian singer and songwriter.
Filöfred first entered the music industry in 2008, upon the release of her debut album A Date Without You. She has went on to release two other albums in her career. While primarily a rock artist, Filöfred's eclectic musical style incorporates soft rock, folk rock, neoclassical, and baroque pop music.
Life and career[]
Early life[]
Filöfled was born on 16 February 1985 in Basya, Nortensland. Her father Fil was a private violin tutor while her Sodraxian mother Sasha was a concert pianist. The family was middle class.
Filöfled attended primary school in Basya, where she excelled academically, particularly in reading, writing, history, foreign languages, and the social sciences. She was taught violin by her father, piano by her mother, and picked up guitar on her on at the age of 12.
Filöfled graduated from primary school in 2000 as the valedictorian and went on to attend a social sciences high school with a specialization in psychology. She graduated in 2003 and was the valedictorian again. Following her graduation from high school, she moved to Ubenmoor where she attended Queen's University with a major in psychology, graduating in 2007 magna cum laude. After her graduation from university, Filöfled decided to pursue a career in music.
2007–2009: Career beginnings and A Date Without You[]
Filöfled began playing small gigs in coffeeshops, until being signed by Abigail Rhodes Records. She later began to develop her sound, settling on classical-inspired folk rock due to her upbringing as the child of classically trained musicians. Her debut single, "Stuck In Reverse", was released in 2008, followed by her debut album A Date Without You later in the year. The album also produced the singles "Lights" and "Ignite Me".
2009–2013: Shine / Shone[]
In early-2009, Filöfled revealed that production on her second studio album had commenced. The album's lead single "Teardrops" was released in 2010 and saw a heavy influence from electronic rock and synthpop. The song went on to become Filöfled's most successful song, becoming a Top 20 hit in Lashardia. The album, titled Shine / Shone, was released the following year and has also become her most successful album. It produced the singles "Rio" and "Hunger".
2013–present: Welcome to Me[]
In 2013, Filöfled revealed that she's working on her third studio album. The album's lead single, "The Wolf" was released in 2014. The song saw a departure from the musical style in her previous album, instead largely incorporated baroque pop and other classical elements. The album, titled Welcome to Me, was released in 2015. It also produced the singles "I Know What You're Thinking" and "Don't Let Me Down".
Personal life[]
Filöfled resides in the Jorden district of Ubenmoor with her husband. She speaks fluent Lashardian, Sodraxian, Pesan, Consensumian, and English.
