Life and career[]

Early life[]

Horancha was born on 1 June 1964 in the Sestre district of Ubenmoor. Her parents had immigrated to Lashardia from Pesa in the late-50s prior to the coup d'état due to their dissatisfaction with the ruling monarchy. Her father Pier worked in the Ubenmoor transportation industry, while her mother Donna was a homemaker. The family was working class, and Horancha had two younger brothers.

Horancha attended primary school in the nearby Morgana, where she excelled academically. She graduated from primary school in 1979 as her class's valedictorian, and went on to attend a business and law high school with a specialization in law. She graduated high school in 1982 as her class's valedictorian once again.

After graduation from high school, Horancha began attending Lashardian International University with a dual major in pre-law and business. She graduated with her degree in 1986, and later earned her juris doctor from Queen's University College of Law in 1989. She worked as a lawyer in the Ubenmoor area prior to pursuing a political career.

Political career[]

In 1995, Horancha was elected the municipal supervisor of Mannerberg Municipality, where her family resided at the time. As municipal supervisor, which is the equivalent of a mayor, Horancha was responsible for organizing the services that municipalities provide for their residents, such as public education, sanitation, and support to its residents.

Horancha's term ended in 1999 and she did not seek reelection, and instead began campaigning with the Social Democratic Party. She was included on the Social Democratic ticket for the 2002 Lashardian general election and was elected into parliament. She was reelected in 2006, 2010, and 2014. She currently serves as the chairwoman for the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Personal life[]

Horancha was raised speaking both Pesan and Lashardian, and can also speak fluent English and Adoriamian. She is a Muslim and ethnic black Pesan. Horancha became a Pesan citizen in 2004, and owns a summer residence in Santa Anastasia.

Horancha married Lashardian educator Pal Filipökardh in 1986, when she was only 22 years old. They have two children together; Erika, born in 1990, and Jon, born in 1992. She resides in Mannerberg, Ubenmoor District.
